Impact Report
In April 2025 a different life Ghana established the library and literacy centre which is one of the departments of the youth hub program in Agona Nsaba, in the central region of Ghana. The library was to create an enabling environment for the youth and the community at large to thrive, of which literacy was huge part of it. We needed books to stock the empty shelves, which will give us the edge to craft programs that could spark some level of curiosity in the area of reading and learning. For example we now have the annual spelling bee project, the weekend literacy boost and many more.
After receiving books from Books2Africa, we had enough books in the library we were able to craft projects that promoted literacy like, the annual spelling bee project, the weekend literacy boost, library time for the schools to visit the library every week and many more. The community has no library, our is only reference point for the youth to take advantage of.
Selected schools within the community now enjoy their library time every week in our library and literacy centre. This has helped spark some level of zeal and passion towards learning and the love for books.
The community now has a library with numerous books for them to feed their minds on, the traditional leaders have taken it upon themselves to always announce the presence of the fully functioning library during community gatherings for them to take advantage of.
