Highlighted Projects
WEST AFRICA

3,000 books donated to Support Our Troops Foundation, a military charity that provides resources to more than 10,000 children in some 75 military schools in Nigeria. The donation will boost the morale of the military who are engaged in a war with Boko Haram – a militant terrorist group fighting against education in Northern Nigeria.

SOUTHERN AFRICA

1,000 books donated to the Community Development Training College in Zambia. At the handing over ceremony, Zambia’s Minister of Community Development and Social Welfare said “I thank Books To Africa for the gesture of donating and shipping a total of 1,248 books which are related to the subjects that are offered in the course of community development”.

EAST AFRICA

1,000 books donated to Urban Resource Centre in Uganda, a community organisation which aims to empower students through a centre where they can develop a reading culture and improve their literacy levels. According to Project Coordinator Nathan Okiror, the project “has led to improvement in class performance in schools”.

NORTH AFRICA

1,000 books donated to College Al Irfane in Morocco where more than 300 students study English. The Custom Authorities in Morocco inspected the consignment to ensure compliance with the national curriculum. International companies demanding English speaking workers has seen an increase in demand for English lessons.

You can collect any quantity of donated books from our UK office or from our collection office in your country. We can also ship donated books directly from the UK to your country but an additional shipping fee will be charged and only applications for a minimum of 1,000 books will be approved.
