The Africa Stand is a book exhibition, sales and distribution service run by Books2Africa, a UK-registered book charity based in Kent. African and Black authors, self-published authors and independent publishers can exhibit their books within The Africa Stand at the London Book Fair and the Frankfurt Book Fair every year, without having to book a stand of their own. Exhibitors can also store their books within our UK warehouses for sale and distribution to buyers throughout the year.
Register and pay our exhibition fee to get a dedicated bookcase to display your books within The Africa Stand at the London Book Fair or the Frankfurt Book Fair. Then, deliver a maximum of 200 copies of your books to our UK warehouse and we'll display them on your bookcase. We also display and brochures next to your bookcase.
During the book fair, we'll take orders of your books from prospective buyers via a QR code ordering system and remit the funds to your PayPal or bank account within 30 days. We'll also send you a sales report. If you are unable to attend the fair in person, send us your business card or promotional literature to give away to visitors.
After the book fair, we can store the remaining copies of your books at our UK warehouse in Kent to sell via our global distribution service. We create a listing of your book on our eBay shop, post it to buyers globally and remit funds to your account quarterly, less our distribution fee. Not exhibiting at a fair? You can use our distribution service on its own.
You get a dedicated bookcase to display your books. You cover the cost of delivering your books to our UK warehouse. You also get 2 complimentary event tickets if you wish to attend in person.
We handle all orders for your book during the fair via a QR code ordering system and remit 100% of your listed price earnings within 30 days.
We can list, sell and distribute your remaining books to UK and global buyers via our eBay shop and at other events we attend. From each sale, we deduct shipping and platform fees, then our £2 per book distribution fee, and pay you the balance quarterly. Our distribution fee covers the cost of warehousing, packing and fulfilment.
Not exhibiting at a fair? Store your books at our UK warehouse and sell them through our eBay shop and at other events we attend. A one-off £100 onboarding fee, waived for fair exhibitors, then £2 per book sold.
Registration is now open for the London Book Fair 2027 (16–18 March) and the Frankfurt Book Fair 2027 (6–10 October). Spaces are limited, and registration closes early once all bookcases are taken. Otherwise, register by 2 February 2027 for London or 25 August 2027 for Frankfurt. Books must reach our warehouse by 16 February or 6 September.

The Africa Stand is a book exhibition, sales and distribution service run by Books2Africa, a UK-registered charity. It helps African and Black authors and publishers exhibit their books at the London Book Fair and the Frankfurt Book Fair, and sell and distribute their books globally throughout the year.
Any African or Black author or publisher can exhibit, including self-published authors, independent publishers and small presses. Books in any language can be exhibited, as well as audiobook cards with QR codes.
The London Book Fair takes place every March in London, and the Frankfurt Book Fair takes place every October in Frankfurt, Germany. You must register with us at least 6 weeks before the fair, so there is time to get your books to us.
Exhibiting costs £1,000 per fair, with no VAT added. Handling orders during the fair is free. Distribution only costs a one-off £100 onboarding fee. For all books sold after the fair or through distribution, we deduct shipping and platform fees, then a flat £2 per book.
You get a dedicated bookcase at The Africa Stand, a logo frame, an A4 brochure holder and 2 complimentary tickets to attend the fair in person. We also take orders of your books for you during the fair so you do not need to attend in person.
Each bookcase is 80cm wide, 28cm deep and 220cm high, with 6 shelves. The top shelf shows your name card. The other 5 shelves hold 20 to 30 books each, depending on book size. Copies that do not fit are kept aside to restock the shelves during the fair.
Banners are not allowed within The Africa Stand. You can send up to 1,000 brochures, catalogues, postcards or business cards for your brochure holder, and we will refill it during the fair. These must reach us with your books or at least 2 weeks before the fair.
You can send up to 200 copies to our UK warehouse in Kent at least 1 month before the fair. You pay the cost of delivery. We can provide a door-to-door FedEx or DHL quote, including customs clearance, or you can arrange your own courier.
No. If you can’t attend, we’ll display your books and take orders on your behalf. You can also send business cards or promotional leaflets for us to hand out to visitors.
After registering, send us the details of 2 delegates and we will email you their tickets. The tickets cover every day of the fair and all free events. Delegates can arrange meetings with other exhibitors and use our shared meeting area within The Africa Stand.
For orders taken during the fair, we pay 100% of your listed price into your PayPal or bank account within 30 days, along with a sales report. For sales after the fair, we pay you every quarter, less our £2 per book distribution fee.
The report lists the titles, quantities and amounts of all orders. Buyers can choose to share their contact details with the publisher when they order. If they do, we include those details in your report. We cannot share the details of buyers who do not opt in.
After you register, we send you an invoice payable within 30 days, or at least 1 month before the fair if that is sooner. Your place is confirmed once payment is received. If you cancel more than 60 days before the fair, you get a full refund. After that, we refund 50% of the fee.
We can store them at our UK warehouse and sell them worldwide through our eBay shop. Alternatively, authors can request the remaining books back and pay return postage.
Yes. There is a one-off £100 onboarding fee per publisher, which is waived for fair exhibitors. You can send up to 200 copies per title to our Kent warehouse. From each sale, we deduct shipping and platform fees, then our £2 per book fee, and pay you the balance quarterly.
We confirm the hall and stand location to all exhibitors at least 2 weeks before each fair. Bookcases are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Keep an eye on the London Book Fair and Frankfurt Book Fair websites, or contact us via [email protected]
We try our best to get your order to you as soon as possible. After dispatch, our standard delivery (Royal Mail First Class) typically arrives the next day in the UK (but can take up to 7 days), in 6 days to the EU and 10 days worldwide. It is important to note that delivery times are out of our control, as we do not deliver the goods ourselves.
If the error is ours, we will reprint free of charge. If the error is yours, we will reprint for 25% of the original amount. If we have sent you the wrong size garment, we will absolutely remake it for you in the right size when you return it.
The guidance measurements given next to the shirts are supposed to represent what size person they fit. They are not the actual measurements of the garment itself, which naturally need to be larger than the person they are designed to fit.
Firstly, please ignore the washing instructions in the garment itself. These are for blank garments and not printed ones.
Wash your shirts at 40 degrees or less. Iron on reverse (cool). Do not tumble dry.
Whilst Royal Mail normally deliver all first class post within 1-2 working days, they can on occasion take longer. In the unlikely event that your goods do not arrive, allow 7 days before calling us. We cannot authorise any remakes before this time has passed as Royal Mail have been known to deliver within this time.
However, if you paid to have Express delivery, contact us immediately as we can provide you with the tracking reference to chase it with the carrier.
