Langa Mpofu is a Zimbabwean whose connection with Books2Africa was established in January 2017 when she started volunteering for the charity while studying law at the University of Kent. In the summer of that year, she was inspired to play a more prominent role within the charity and put her name forward for president of the student volunteer group. She was successfully elected and began her year-long tenure in September. She took this challenge head on and was committed to her role which saw her lead a committee, engage with various stakeholders on and off campus, plan fundraising events and book drives and give a presentation on behalf of the charity. She continued to volunteer until her time at the university came to an end in May 2019.
She is a Master of Law graduate from the University of Amsterdam and is currently working as a Paralegal in the transport and logistics sector for an international company based in Amsterdam. Langa is driven, curious and committed to a brighter future for the African continent which motivates her desire to work closely with Books2Africa.
