Impact Report
My students were elated to receive the shipment of books from the Books to Africa International. The school is still growing and many changes are happening so the expansion of our library was an exciting change for them.
In an effort to give them a sense of ownership of the library and the books in it, the most senior students were gathered together to unpack and place the books onto the shelves. They were also tasked with the assignment of creating a category system for the new books and the old books in the library. They did an amazing job of this and were able to put the library together, with some help, in a very impressive way.
Since the assembly of the library the students have made the library their favorite place in the school which is an exciting prospect as one of the big goals of the school is to open the minds of the students through helping them to make reading a habit. The total book count was 1032 books. Many of the books were fictional leisure reading which is ideal for many of the students as they are much easier reading.
