My name is Christopher Ebikebena Asei. I am from many places in the sense that, I am a local of Lagos, Bayelsa and Jos, Nigeria. I am a student at the University of Jos, I love to write, I love to read, I love to serve, I love data science, I love to teach. I love to learn. So I basically do many things.

Books2Africa has given me a number of my favourite books. Basil Davidson’s “The Story of Africa” stands out. This book was gotten from the Books2Africa distribution in Jos in the tertiary/history section. The book takes readers through Africa’s history from pre-colonial to modern times.

This book happens to be my favourite because as a reader, I am always on the lookout for new and interesting books to add to my collection, but few have captured my imagination and held my attention like Basil Davidson’s “The story of Africa.” From the first page to the last, the book drew me in and kept me hooked. The book was well-researched, engaging, thought-provoking and different from other historical books I have read about Africa.

I got this book in the month of December, and there are many ways it has had a significant impact in my life aside using it for school assignments. First, I have found myself thinking about the book and its thought-provoking ideas long after I finished reading it. This has changed my perspective on developmental issues in Africa. Second, it has also challenged my beliefs about certain regions of the continent. Meaning, this book saved me from having a single story Africa. Lastly, this book made me cherish the power of books, indeed when you read extensively about a particular subject, it can broaden your horizon in many ways you can never imagine.

As an avid reader, I am constantly on the lookout for new and interesting books to add to my library. I was ecstatic to discover that Books2Africa is more than just a haven for booklovers like myself. Aside from offering a diverse selection of books for all types of readers, Books2Africa carries many of the world’s best books. I’m even more impressed by the knowledgeable and friendly volunteers who are patient and always willing to help book lovers choose the right books. I will continue to support Books2Africa and recommend it to my family, friends, and loved ones in the city of Jos.

Dear Books2Africa, I take this moment to express my appreciation for the service you provide. I admire the initiative and the innovations they have Implemented in the last year months. I think Books2Africa is creating a new generation of readers who will use the knowledge they get from books to better society. I also think, they need more volunteers to help with the sorting and arranging of the books.

Books2Africa’s impact is achieved thanks to the generous support of our donors, sponsors and partners. Putting a book in the hands of a child in Africa puts a smile on their face, knowledge in their mind and hope for a brighter future in their soul. It’s the least expensive but most important gift you could ever give.
