Impact Report
Project Name: Ogun State Polytechnic of Health and Allied Sciences Library Project.
As the newly appointed Polytechnic Librarian, my mission is to transform the polytechnic library to an accredited and acceptable institutional library to a National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) standard. And to make updated resources accessible to the library users such as students, academic and non academic staff and researchers thereby attaining the goals of the polytechnic.
The library has been collecting donated books from individuals, researchers and through direct purchases. However, these resources have not been enough for a standard polytechnic library – there has been a huge desire for more books.
I was privileged to get a pallet of books (almost 1000 textbooks) on public health, Biology and Medicine. The books donated are of great quality, very valuable and relevant to the courses offered in the institution. I feel very excited about this donation and hope to keep this relationship as well as get more donations in future.
Firstly, access to this donated books as been an eye opener to the polytechnic as we never knew something like this existed.
Secondly, these books will help library users to get updated and vast data in relevant fields.
Thirdly, the student now feel very happy that they have updated resources relevant to their courses. Thereby, saving them cost of searching for materials for assignments & examinations.
