Request donated books that have already been shipped and are available in stock in your country

How We Work

Each Books2Africa Distribution Centre only donates books to educational institutions and projects within its country. The institutions and projects must either be registered with the local authorities or have a website or social media page where their mission can be seen and verified by the public. Finally, the institutions and projects must cover the processing and shipping fees of donated books and agree not to sell any of the books. If you meet this criteria, then proceed to request donated books as follows:

1. Browse Local Inventory

Go to the inventory page of your country office below to browse available books from our 17 categories. Each category contains pallets of books with an average of 1,000 books per pallet. Browse available pallets for each category, view the quantity and list of books inside each pallet and add it to your request if needed. Note that you must request a minimum of 1 pallet to proceed.

2. Fund Your Shipment

We require beneficiaries to raise funds and contribute £500 (equivalent in local currency) per pallet of books requested to help recover the costs we incur in importing, clearing and warehousing donated books in your country. When you have raised funds, select the pallets you need and complete your country's Book Request Form with details about your institution or project.

3. Send Impact Photos

After your request is approved and funding is received, you can collect your pallets of donated books from your local office. After receiving your books, you will find a small quantity of books with a yellow impact sticker. You are required to donate them to your beneficiaries urgently and send us an Impact Photo of each beneficiary holding the book they received.

Charity Shop FAQs

We try our best to get your order to you as soon as possible. After dispatch, our standard delivery (Royal Mail First Class) typically arrives the next day in the UK (but can take up to 7 days), in 6 days to the EU and 10 days worldwide. It is important to note that delivery times are out of our control, as we do not deliver the goods ourselves.

If the error is ours, we will reprint free of charge. If the error is yours, we will reprint for 25% of the original amount. If we have sent you the wrong size garment, we will absolutely remake it for you in the right size when you return it.

The guidance measurements given next to the shirts are supposed to represent what size person they fit. They are not the actual measurements of the garment itself, which naturally need to be larger than the person they are designed to fit.

Firstly, please ignore the washing instructions in the garment itself. These are for blank garments and not printed ones.

Wash your shirts at 40 degrees or less. Iron on reverse (cool). Do not tumble dry.

Whilst Royal Mail normally deliver all first class post within 1-2 working days, they can on occasion take longer. In the unlikely event that your goods do not arrive, allow 7 days before calling us. We cannot authorise any remakes before this time has passed as Royal Mail have been known to deliver within this time.

However, if you paid to have Express delivery, contact us immediately as we can provide you with the tracking reference to chase it with the carrier.
