We visited delivered the PowerPoint slides below at a school assembly presentation at Bodsham Church Of England Primary School. This took place on the 8th of March, 2019; where three Books2Africa volunteers, myself Rachel Allen, Ana Diaz and Nancy Nicole Falco visited Bodsham C Of E Primary School, Ashford Kent. On our visit, we carried out a presentation at the school’s assembly about the work of the Charity. With the support of its volunteers, book donors and sponsors the Charity continues to positively impact two communities simultaneously by its commitment to reducing environmental waste in the UK and improving the quality of education in Africa through the collection and distribution of books.
The visit and presentation experience was beyond all of our expectations! The presentation lasted roughly 20 minutes and all the children were so engaging giving us their full attention throughout. The pupils also contributed some great questions at the end of our presentations; pupils as well as the teachers were all keen to support our work by raising funds and donating books and other educational resources.
The children enjoyed the learning about Books2Africa, this is particularly exemplified by one of the teacher’s report one week after the event that: “The children are still talking about it…”
