Impact Summary

The significance of books to the life of a student and to these students cannot be underestimated. The hundreds of students who never had a textbook to read from are now being able to go to the library and read from the variety of books donated. While the country coordinator for CEED Cameroon challenged the students to make use of the wealth of knowledge found in the books, the Principal also encouraged students to use the books and improve on their academics and urge teachers to make use of the library and enrich their curriculum.

Impact Report

Nelson Mandela said “Education is the only means by which the son/daughter of a farmer can become a medical doctor”. However, the absence of books to read from is making such dreams a far reality for many students in rural communities in Cameroon.

Through CEED CAMEROON, Books To Africa has donated 1,626 education text books to GHS Baa which represents one of the biggest high school within the Sub Division without a Library. This school is situated within a rural community in which must parents are leaving far below the poverty line with almost no income to buy books for their children.

The significance of books to the life of a student and to these students cannot be under estimated. The hundreds of students who never had a text book to read from are now being able to go to the library and read from the variety of books donated. While the country coordinator for CEED CAMEROON challenged the students to make use of the wealth of knowledge found in the books, the Principal also encouraged students to use the books and improve on their academics and urge teachers to make use of the library and enrich their curriculum.
