Impact Report
The books are useful for teaching, learning and research which are the core functions of the university. The books have increase our library usage over the past few months as more students find the books useful for the learning and research needs.
On the hand, faculty/teaching staff have found the library useful due to the new books. They are now sending and assigning students to read books as either preferred text or supplementary text.
Generally, the books are very useful and a boost to our academic mission.
Lecturers are using the books to deliver their lectures in classrooms. Most users use some of the books for their personal studies. One of the books that is used most for personal study is “my business my success”.
From our library usage, it was found that there has been an increase in the use of the library since the books arrived. This could lead to improvement in students learning outcome.
The availability of these books has made students to take ownership of their learning which is a positive attitude. It has also changed the attitudes of teachers relying on pamphlets as the only learning resource for teaching.
Positively, it has transformed the institution into a pure academic institution and has brought participatory learning environment.
The objective of the University library is to provide learning resources that support teaching learning and research. Books2Africa’s Support to AMEU Library has enable the library to meet a mission. We are better placed to meet the information needs of our users.
