Busesa Community Library, Uganda

The students and teachers compete for the limited textbooks provided by the government and most times the teachers will prevail. A student can complete an entire academic year without ever accessing a textbook required for their learning subjects. In the midst of this scarcity of learning and instructional resources, Busesa community library is positioning itself as a hub that can provide the appropriate stock of books and online resources to aid learning for students and teachers in this community.

A Reader is a Leader Project, Ghana

The books received from Books To Africa International, (although some of the books did not relate to the Ghana Education Service curricula), has helped a lot of pupils/learners to have access to supplementary reading materials, stimulated their reading habits, improved their vocabulary and diction, and an overall improvement in the learning of the English Language.
Wellspring International School Community Library, Uganda

Wellspring community library is already being enjoyed by members of the local community and is proving to be an excellent place for people to appreciate the quality space to enjoy reading. We aim to encourage a love and culture of reading helping to
develop higher literacy levels in the local community.
Support Our Troops Foundation, Nigeria

It is the believe of the Foundation that, a book in the hands of a child can lead to endless possibilities and create a reading culture in the children of the armed forces. It is in view of this that, the Foundation took a giant stride to donate 3000 books received from Books2Africa for distribution to libraries in military schools.
Ijaw Youth Library, Nigeria

IYC has entered into partnership with Books2Africa, a UK based international Non-governmental organization, which donated about 1000 books that formed the first stock of the library and ICT center which has dozens of Computers. The NGO is known to give books from donors majorly in the UK to need areas in Africa. The library was named in the honor of the late Dr. Oronto Douglas, a renowned intellectual and writer who has traversed the globe in pursuit of the Niger Delta struggle.
The Children’s Voice Book Drive, Zimbabwe

Our team worked diligently to have a colourful handover event. It was held at Umguza Primary School which was one of the receiving schools. Other people present were the children, parents, teachers of the Umguza Primary School and that of the other receiving schools. Ministry of Education officials were also present. The children presented some poems, drama and songs thanking Books To Africa and our organisation for the support. Your donation of books will certainly go a long way in helping the children in our rural schools of Zimbabwe learn and love reading.
Oaks View International College, Nigeria

Since the assembly of the library the students have made the library their favourite place in the school which is an exciting prospect as one of the big goals of the school is to open the minds of the students through helping them to make reading a habit. The total book count was 1032 books. Many of the books were fictional leisure reading which is ideal for many of the students as they are much easier reading.
Vocational Community Library, Cameroon

The drama club has improved the reading and speaking skills as stories extracted from the books are used. Last year we recorded a good percentage of a pass in English language because of the Library.
