Hello everyone, and thank you for coming to this small get-together to mark my final day with Books2Africa.

I’ve worked 3.5 amazing years at this organisation, and I am forever thankful for the opportunities I’ve had. I value the friendships and all the support I have received over the years, particularly from Tonson and Precious. You took a chance on me when I was fresh out of secondary school. Though I left school, the warehouse became my classroom. Thank you for seeing my potential and always giving me new challenges and opportunities to learn. You have given me the confidence I need to take the next step, which I hope doing so will help me achieve an even better work-life and create lasting memories for myself, much as the Books2Africa team has demonstrated.

It has been inspiring to see how the organisation never fails to bring the creative energy out of each and every team member, and I hope this is something I can take with me to university and any future workplaces.

I have mixed emotions about leaving Books2Africa. But I am so excited for the challenges I have ahead. Though I am sad to leave you all – I am so proud to be part of the team, and I have enjoyed working with every one of you. Not to mention some absent friends who I have met throughout the years.

I can’t wait to see how your vision takes Books2Africa to the next level. I am confident you can all lead this organisation to great heights. I’m so glad to be pursuing my new transition, but I will miss the
the spontaneity of the work and generosity of such a brilliant team.

Thank you again. And best of luck!

Books2Africa’s impact is achieved thanks to the generous support of our donors, sponsors and partners. Putting a book in the hands of a child in Africa puts a smile on their face, knowledge in their mind and hope for a brighter future in their soul. It’s the least expensive but most important gift you could ever give.
